About this space
Hanbury Street runs east from Brick Lane through the middle of Spitalfields, and 68-80 is where the whole Second Home idea began. A former carpet factory reworked by the Spanish architects SelgasCano, it became one of the more recognisable workspaces in London: curving translucent walls, a staircase that visitors stop to photograph, and more than a thousand plants growing on a hydroponic system through the floors.
Private offices take teams of four to fifty from £500 per desk a month, with dedicated Resident desks from £400 and Roaming hot desking from £250, all plus VAT and all covering business rates, utilities, wifi, cleaning and access to the cultural programme. Eight meeting rooms, named for thinkers from Jane Jacobs to E.O. Wilson, book from £65 an hour without membership, and seven event spaces run up to 200 guests, taking in a rooftop and an auditorium.
